Paddington The Talking Gulper – “Good Times and Great Music“
Hailing from the depths of Gulper Lagoon, Paddington the Talking Gulper hosts Mire Radio’s hit show “Good Times and Great Music,” a weekly request programme that brings the best tunes to listeners all across Appalachia. Whether you’re exploring the wilderness, battling creatures, or relaxing in your camp, Paddington’s show is the perfect companion for every wasteland wanderer.
Once an ordinary gulper, Paddington gained his unique (and somewhat quirky) ability to speak after an unusual run-in with a Vox Syringer. Though his speech might be a little… unconventional, his charm and enthusiasm shine through, making him a fan favourite and the voice of Mire Radio.
Tune in every week for Paddington’s lively banter, heartfelt song dedications, and maybe even a few surprising stories from the swampy depths of The Mire.
Adventure is better with “Good Times and Great Music!”

Courtney The Mirelurk – “Crabby Accommodations“
Ever wondered what it’s like to run a motel in a world where everyone’s trying to avoid you? Meet Courtney, a plucky mirelurk with a dream – and claws big enough to carry it. She’s the lead concierge at the Vault 94 Bed and Breakfast, a post-apocalyptic motel run entirely by mirelurks and almost entirely avoided by the public.
“Crabby Accommodations” takes you behind the scenes of this swampy establishment, where Courtney juggles scheduling, guest complaints, and her co-workers’ “quirky” personalities (like her boyfriend Sheldon, the chef who insists every dish could use more algae). She’s determined to prove that hospitality isn’t just for humans, even if most guests would rather risk sleeping with radroaches than spend a night at Vault 94.
This season, follow Courtney as she tackles her biggest challenges yet: hosting a ghoul bachelorette party, surviving an unexpected Deathclaw attack, and launching Vault 94’s first-ever five-star review campaign. Can a mirelurk’s grit and optimism turn this doomed B&B into the hottest destination in Appalachia?
Grab your Pip-Boy and tune in to “Crabby Accommodations” to discover the reality of life in the mire, claws and all!

Butch – “Wasteland Wisdom”
Meet Butch, the gravelly-voiced wanderer and your unconventional guide to navigating the trials of the wasteland. A self-described “chems salesman” with a surprising knack for philosophy, Butch has lived life on the edge and come out with a trove of hard-earned wisdom—and a song in his heart to share with you each day.
Butch doesn’t just see the wasteland for its harshness; he finds its stories, its lessons, and even its beauty amidst the rubble. Whether it’s a cautionary tale or a rare moment of hope, his show, Wasteland Wisdom, is a sanctuary for weary listeners seeking companionship, insight, and the occasional tune to keep their spirits high.
While some might dismiss Butch as just another drifter, he’s the first to remind you that wisdom comes in all shapes and sizes—sometimes even in a worn-out leather jacket and a cloud of dust. So, grab your radio, tune in, and let Butch surprise you with his one-of-a-kind blend of wit, grit, and a whole lot of heart.
After all, in a world as chaotic as this, a voice like Butch’s might just be what gets you through another day.

Carson – “Calm, With Carson”
Step into the tranquil world of Carson, the enigmatic host of Calm, with Carson on Mire Radio. His real name? Well, that’s a secret he keeps close to his heart, preferring to go by the name of the old bunker he calls home. For Carson, it’s a name that feels just right—solid, unpretentious, and grounded in a place of safety.
Carson’s mission is simple: to be a soothing voice in an otherwise chaotic world. With his calm demeanour and gentle wisdom, he creates a space where listeners can breathe easy, let go of the day’s troubles, and rediscover a little peace. Whether he’s sharing serene stories, offering reflections on life in the Mire, or simply letting the quiet speak for itself, Carson will bring a little relief to the constant panic of life in the wasteland. So, if you’re feeling adrift in the madness, tune in to Calm, with Carson. He’s there, waiting in his little corner of heaven, ready to remind you that even in the chaos, peace is still possible—one episode at a time.

Richard “Rich” St Clair – “Groovin’, With Rich”
If you’re looking for smooth talk and effortless charm, well… you won’t find it here. But what Rich lacks in radio finesse, he more than makes up for with sheer enthusiasm, questionable dance moves (that you can definitely hear through the mic), and an undying love for the grooviest sounds of the pre-war era. As the host of Groovin’ With Rich on Mire Radio, he’s Appalachia’s self-proclaimed funkadelic ambassador, spinning the best in disco, funk, and soul to keep the wasteland moving and grooving—whether it wants to or not.
A former vault dweller with a soft spot for sequins, Rich approaches every show with the energy of a man who’s just discovered radio and is a little too excited about it. His sign-offs are often a little too long, his segues never quite land, and he has a tendency to overshare—but somehow, it just works. There’s something about his awkward charm and relentless positivity that makes even the most hardened raider pause for a dance break.
When he’s not on the air, Rich can be found scavenging old records, arguing with his own echo in the studio, or trying (and failing) to get a working disco ball installed in the Mire Radio studios. Whether you love him, cringe at him, or both, one thing’s for sure—Rich believes in the power of the groove. And in a world gone mad, maybe that’s exactly what Appalachia needs.
Stay smooth, stay funky… and please, somebody tell Rich his mic is still on.

Blossom Gulper – “Times Gone By”
Blossom Gulper is not your average radio host—in fact, she’s not your average anything. A soft-spoken, music-loving talking gulper originally from Boston, Blossom now calls The Mire, West Virginia, her home. Nestled among the shadowy trees and the occasional mysterious ripple in the swamp, she broadcasts her show Times Gone By with Blossom Gulper, a heartfelt homage to the golden echoes of yesteryear.
Though shy by nature and prone to blushing when complimented on her excellent taste in jazz trumpet solos, Blossom is a true collector at heart. Over the years, she’s wandered far and wide—gliding through misty valleys, abandoned ballrooms, and once, allegedly, a haunted roller rink—gathering rare and forgotten recordings of live concerts, stage shows, and off-the-grid dancehall gems. These audio relics are lovingly curated and shared weekly on her show, often accompanied by her gentle commentary, charmingly hesitant giggles, and the occasional background sound of her tap-dancing just off-mic.
Blossom may prefer the shadows of the spotlight, but her passion for music burns brighter than the midnight stars. Whether it’s a 1940s swing set or a bootleg tape from a dusty roadside blues club, Blossom finds the soul in every note and brings it back to life, one song at a time.
So tune in, slow down, and let the rhythms of the past wash over you with Times Gone By.
